cv objectives vs resume objectives

CV objects and resume objects are practically the same as they both communicate your career focus to the employer.

Effective cv objectives will inform the employer where you see yourself in the next 3-5 years.  Transferring this information across successfully and clearly in your cv objective statement is critical as the reader will not spend much time in trying to translate a very vague statement.

The objective in the cv or resume should be at most two sentences while being easy to understand without much thought.

The five main elements to include within it are:

  • The position your applying for
  • The company your applying to
  • The industry your applying in
  • Where you see yourself
  • The out come for the company

A great cv objective sample which includes these five elements is the following:

“A seasoned professional with 3 years experience who brings a wide variety of programming languages in order to establish a foothold within the IT industry as a Programmer for Organization X so that it can remain the market leader in today’s market. “

Take your time when creating your cv objective statement and ensure you include the five elements and stand out of the crowd.
